Writing is where I started. Now I’m taking the same editorial instinct into podcasts, radio, presenting, video and interviews – adapting the story to the platform, not the other way around.
About Me
I’m Dejan Johal, a final-year Sports Journalism student at Leeds Trinity University and a multimedia reporter specialising in cricket and football. My work spans written journalism, podcasting, radio, presenting and digital video, allowing me to tell sports stories across a range of formats and platforms.
My experience includes contributing to Sports News Blitz, co-hosting the Six and Out cricket podcast, producing sports news bulletins and being part of my own Leeds Trinity sports show, The Roundtable Review. Through these projects, I’ve developed experience in writing, interviewing, presenting, sports analysis and producing content for both audio and video.
Cricket and football sit at the heart of my work, but my wider interest is in finding and telling compelling sports stories. I’m keen to continue developing opportunities across written, audio and visual journalism, combining strong writing with interviewing, podcasting and presenting as I build a career in multimedia sports journalism.
